Every day for a year I have set myself a simple but powerful challenge: to paint something. Some days it might be a small abstract exploration of colour and movement, other days a quick ink and watercolour sketch of a landscape, a building, or a scene that catches my eye.
The idea is not perfection but momentum — allowing creativity to flow freely without overthinking.
The inspiration for this daily practice came from the idea of committing to something consistently, a concept often discussed by entrepreneur and author Steven Bartlett.
What I’ve discovered is that once a creative spark is lit, it often leads to more. Many of these small postcard-sized pieces go on to inspire larger paintings, while others simply stand as joyful moments captured in paint.
This project has become a daily meditation in colour, observation, and play — a reminder that creativity grows the more you use it.
